Biography
Ivan Celis is a bilingual, first-generation Mexican American attorney dedicated to helping clients navigate legal challenges with clarity, confidence, and compassion. As an associate at Song Whiddon, PLLC, Ivan focuses on commercial litigation, business disputes, real estate matters, and corporate transactions. He is committed to delivering practical, effective solutions tailored to each client’s goals—whether that means advocating in the courtroom or structuring a sound business agreement.
Ivan’s litigation experience spans pleadings, motion practice, and court appearances. He has represented individuals and businesses in high-stakes disputes, drawing on a strong foundation built during his time as an intern at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he assisted in complex enforcement investigations involving insider trading, Ponzi schemes, and market manipulation. His background also includes employment law experience from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and early exposure to plaintiff-side litigation through his work on catastrophic injury cases at the Law Office of Domingo Garcia.
In addition to litigation, Ivan regularly assists clients with a wide range of corporate and transactional matters, including drafting and negotiating leases, contracts, employment agreements, bylaws, and articles of incorporation. His goal is always to protect clients’ interests while helping them build toward long-term success.
Ivan earned his J.D. from the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law in May 2024 and was licensed to practice in Texas in October 2024. He is admitted to practice in Texas state and federal courts. Ivan is passionate about using his skills to serve and uplift his community, especially through the areas of law he is most dedicated to: business, litigation, and access to justice.
